Cleaning Paintball Clothes and Gear

Paintball clothes and gear are very easy to stain and somehow difficult to clean. When you come back home after a long day of play, the most bizarre thing is to clean your whole gear and clothes and prepare them for the next game. It’s especially confusing for beginner players who don’t know much about how to clean their paintball gear.

Cleaning paintball gear can be done easily, with household items that you already have in the house. No need to waste money on fancy solutions to clean your paintball gear, as these household items can easily do the job. This guide will walk you through how to clean paintball pants and gear. All the steps given below are simple and easy to follow. I have also given a few methods to help increase or prolong paintball gear life.

Follow the steps given by me here and you will become a pro in cleaning paintball gear that looks new.

(Spoiler Alert: It is not a really tough job if you have the right methods and the right cleaning material.)

How to clean paintball Pants & Jerseys?

Slider shorts and paintball pants are two of the most likely items to get gunked up with paint. Fortunately, they’re also among the easiest items to clean. Even better, if you’re diligent in keeping them clean and washing them on a regular basis, your paintball clothes should last you for a long time.

The best way to clean these pants is by washing them with warm water and allowing them to dry completely. But, if these are made out of Nylon, avoid washing in warm water as Nylon can not withstand heat and wear out.

  • To start you need to close all the zippers and empty all pockets of your pants and jerseys.
  • Soak the jerseys, shorts, and pants in any laundry stain remover.
  • The next step is to hand wash it delicately or throw it in the washing machine.
  • Set the machine in cold water and delicate wash.
  • After washing, I prefer air drying. I suggest you do the same, as air drying increases the lifespan of paintball clothes.

I expect now you know how to clean your jerseys and pants and make them last longer by washing them properly.

Washing Paintball mask and Goggles

Paintball masks and glasses are the two most delicate parts of the gear. Cleaning them is very tricky as it involves some confidence and skill to assemble and disassemble the parts.

First, the good news: with proper maintenance, it is entirely possible to keep your paintball mask and goggles in clean condition, and no matter how hard you play and sweat, if you clean them regularly (more than a few times per weekend), your gear will last long.

  • To clean a mask, the first step is to disassemble it.
  • Now simply wash the mask inside out with plain water.
  • Wipe the lenses with a microfiber cloth. (Avoid using any abrasive material. Such as paper towels or tissues as they may be abrasive.)
  • Let it dry for some time.
  • Reassemble all parts back together.

Additionally, if you find any scratches and smudges on your lens, be careful while assembling it. As you may break the whole lens in an attempt to assemble it in hurry.

The biggest problem with cleaning guns is that many people don’t know how to clean them properly after a day of shooting.

  • Detach or remove the tank/hopper and barrel from the marker.
  • Cleanse the inside of the barrel thoroughly. Just make sure it doesn’t get into the trigger mechanism.
  • Use a toothbrush to clean the more vital areas of the gun. You can also use a Q-tip for more intricate places.
  • Do not use chemical-based cleansers for the gun.
  • Use only pure water with a cotton cloth/microfiber towel or sponge.
  • After cleaning let it dry.
